Cold Water Fishing

As water temperatures start to cool so does a bass’ metabolism. This causes the bass to become more opportunistic hunters rather than chase whatever is swimming by. A prime example of this is what happens to Threadfin shad and Gizzard shad when water temps drop less than 50 degrees Fahrenheit. They travel to shallow creeks for warmer water and a large percentage of them begin to die off because their bodies cannot handle the temperature changes.

Bass will also travel to these same creeks to take advantage of these easy meals. Since this is the typical feeding patterns for bass this time of year. LTB has selected a group of baits that are specific to imitating a baitfish’s lethargic behavior that will temp opportunistic bass to strike. Happy fishing!
